Core workflow

Delete exactly the right history

DeleteTweets combines bulk deletion with precise controls: content type, keywords, date ranges, engagement thresholds, exceptions and backups.

Local-first deletion

Local-first deletion

DeleteTweets works inside your browser on the X account already signed in, without server-side OAuth access.

Keep important posts safe with keyword-based exceptions before a bulk delete run starts.

Safety net
How It Works

Delete tweets in 3 steps

Install the extension, choose what to remove, then run a controlled bulk delete or archive cleanup.

01

Install and open X

Add DeleteTweets to Chrome or Edge, open x.com, and stay signed in to the account you want to clean.

02

Choose types, filters and exceptions

Pick tweets, retweets, replies or likes, add keyword/date/engagement filters, set exceptions, and back up before deleting.

03

Start bulk deletion or import your archive

Run a controlled deletion for recent items, or import your official X archive ZIP when you need to reach older history.

Deeper controls

Built for real timeline cleanup, not one-by-one deleting

Start with recent posts, import your official archive for older history, and use safety controls before anything is removed.

Twitter archive ZIP import

Use your official X data archive to reach older tweets beyond the recent timeline window.

Backup before deleting

Save copies of deleted items and timeline snapshots before a large cleanup run.

Export deleted and backed-up records

Download records for personal archives, compliance or peace of mind with Pro.

Safe, rate-limited deletion

Deletion is paced automatically to mimic normal activity, lowering the risk that X throttles or flags your account during a large cleanup.

Date range cleanup

Delete everything before a year, inside a bad month, or across a custom From-To window.

Exception whitelist

Protect important, pinned or evergreen posts using semicolon-separated exception keywords.

Keyword targeting

Remove tweets containing specific words, phrases, handles, campaigns or topics.

Engagement filters

Keep high-performing posts and prune only low-engagement content by replies, retweets or likes.

Privacy by design

Delete locally without handing your account to a web app

A browser extension alternative to web-app tweet deleters

Most tweet deleters are web apps that require X sign-in and plan limits. DeleteTweets runs locally and focuses on free deletion, higher-scale cleanup and account control.

FAQ

Quick answers before you clean up your X history.

Yes. DeleteTweets can mass-delete tweets and Twitter/X posts in bulk using content type, keyword, date and engagement filters.
Yes. You can delete tweets, retweets/reposts, replies and likes independently, or combine them in one cleanup run.
For normal deletion workflows, DeleteTweets runs locally in your browser on the X account already signed in. You do not hand your account to a separate web app.
Yes. Use the From-To date range to delete old tweets from a specific period, such as everything before 2022 or one bad month.
Yes. Add keywords or phrases to target only matching tweets, replies, retweets or likes.
When you use the Start button, X only exposes a recent timeline window of roughly 3,200 items to tools. To remove older history, export your full X data archive ZIP and use Archive mode.
Request your X data archive, wait for X to prepare the ZIP, then import it in DeleteTweets Archive mode. Bulk archive deletion is a Pro feature.
Yes. Use exception keywords separated by semicolons to keep important, pinned or evergreen posts safe even when they match other filters.
Yes. DeleteTweets supports backups for deleted items and timeline snapshots, and Pro can export deleted or backed-up records.
No. DeleteTweets deletes selected tweets, retweets, replies or likes. It does not delete or deactivate your Twitter/X account.
Yes. You can delete tweets, retweets, replies and likes — independently or together — so you can clean up one content type or your whole timeline.
DeleteTweets supports Chrome and Microsoft Edge.
Free lets you try the tool with about 50 deletions per day. Pro unlocks higher-scale deletion, Archive mode, backups, export and advanced filters.
Your Lemon Squeezy order email includes a license key. Open the DeleteTweets extension, paste the key into the activation field, and Pro will unlock. Each license can be activated on up to 10 devices.
No. Deletion is intentionally rate-limited because deleting too fast can make X flag automation. If it stops entirely, you may have hit the recent-timeline window or X's daily rate limits.
X limits deletion to roughly 50 items every 15 minutes, plus a 24-hour cap it does not publish — so in practice you can rarely remove more than about 1,000 per day. Pace large cleanups over several days instead of trying to wipe everything in one run.
This is usually a local file-permission issue. Make sure the ZIP is not open in another app, or unzip the archive and upload tweets.js and likes.js directly.
There is no fixed extension file-size cap, but very large archives are limited by your machine memory. Use the latest extension version and try a machine with more RAM if needed.
Yes. DeleteTweets runs in the active browser session, so keep the browser open and prevent the computer from sleeping until deletion completes.
X counters can lag, especially for large like removals. The deletions can be processed while the displayed numbers catch up later.
You can manage or cancel it yourself in two ways: open the Lemon Squeezy email you received when your subscription started and click its manage-subscription link, or go directly to https://saaseverywhere.lemonsqueezy.com/billing. If neither works, email us and we will cancel it manually for you before the next renewal.
Check your Lemon Squeezy order confirmation email. If you cannot find it, contact support with the purchase email address and we can look it up.
